    6th Grade Junior High Shadow Days -  January 16 & January 17 from 110:30 a.m. o 3:25 p.m. If your child is going to be picked up from the elementary and transported to our junior high by someone who is not listed in your child’s Jeffco Connect account, you must call the office and give us verbal permission.

    Science Fair- Be sure to mark your calendars for participation in the Science Fair on Friday, February 22, 2019. Registration for participation is now available on the Science Fair tab at Information with guidelines is also available. Entry forms are due February 6, 2019. We rely on many volunteers from judges to runners to make this event great for our kids. We are also looking for volunteers to help on our Science Fair committee with the preparation.     Do you have an incoming Kindergarten student next year or a student going into 1st through 6th grade that hasn’t made it into JA yet? Families will use EnrollJeffco to apply to JA.  These students will be given priority.  Submit intentions and/or applications online January 22-February 8 using your Jeffco Connect log in. For more information, go to or contact the office. Students currently attending JA will automatically roll into their next grade level. However, Jefferson County Schools is requesting that all families go onto EnrollJeffco to confirm that they will stay at their current school.

    Coat Donations – One of our Girl Scout troops is collecting coats for A Precious Child through Friday, January 18. These may be dropped off in the collection bins located near the office and the east entrance. Thanks for your support.

    Community Social - Our next Community Social will be this Tuesday, January 15th from 4:00-8:00pm, at MOD Pizza (6414 W. 104th Ave) at the Westminster Promenade. Please show the attached flier when ordering and MOD will contribute 15% of JA sales back to the school. See you there!

    GOGO Squeez® Recycling Program – These squeeze pouches are recyclable. There is a collection box in the cafeteria for Kindergarten – 3rd grade students. See the flyer below.

    Calendar/time Changes

    • Individual spring pictures/class pictures will be on Friday, March 8.
    • Kindergarten graduation – (changes only in times). Wednesday, May 22. Half-day students at 8:30 a.m. Full-day students at 10:30 a.m.
    • Oral Interpretation will be on Wednesday, February 13 – 1st -3rd grade at 6:00 p.m./4th-6th grade at 7:30 p.m.


    • Tuesday, January 15 – Board meeting at 6:00 p.m. in the Secondary library.
    • Monday, January 21 – No School – Martin Luther King Day
    • Thursday, January 31 – Graduation pictures for Kindergarten & 6th grade students.
