Parents interested in enrolling for the 2018-2019 school year must participate in First Round Choice Open Enrollment. This time frame will be determined by Jefferson County School District. Lotteries will be held, one lottery for in-county (Jefferson County) residents and one for out-of-county residents. Jefferson County residents will be given priority. Proof of residence will be required upon accepting an open position. A lottery will also be held separately for qualifying siblings.

Second Round Choice Enrollment Forms will be accepted beginning Friday, February 9, 2018.  The form may be downloaded below.  The form may be faxed, emailed or dropped off in the office.  These students will be added on a first-come, first-serve basis to our lists from First Round.

These lists do not carry over to the following school year.

Class Size
We have: 20 students in half-day Kindergarten, 22 students in full-day Kindergarten. We have between 26- 28 students in grades first through sixth. Along with the certified teacher in the classroom, we have an Educational Assistant in each class from 5 -7 hours daily.

Parents upon enrolling their Kindergarten student in our full day program must submit a deposit of $300. The deposit will go toward the fee for the full day program of $3,000 for the year. The remainder ($2,700) may be paid in full in August or in 9 monthly installments of $300 beginning August 1st and the last payment on April 1st. We anticipate having three full-day classes. There is no reduction in fee for students who qualify for the Free or Reduced Lunch Program. There is no reduction in fee or refunds for days a student is absent. There is no scholarship fund.

We also have two half-day Kindergarten classes. One morning (8:00-11:00 a.m.) and one afternoon (12:00-3:00 p.m.).

After the lottery is held (beginning in February), the option for Kindergarten classes (full-day or half-day) are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Students entering Kindergarten must be five years old and students entering first grade must be six years old by October 1 (per district policy).

Jefferson Academy does grant sibling priority (Kindergarten through 12th grade). Sibling priority will be given to siblings in the same household. One sibling must currently be enrolled at Jefferson Academy Elementary or Jefferson Academy Secondary and scheduled to return to either one of those schools.
